Cornelius, Christy and Capt Michael Dempsey (from Jena, LA) were brothers born in Ireland and migrated to the US.

Cornelius's old homeplace is located at W6090 Train Road, Clyman, Dodge County, WI. This is now a dairy farm and corn is also grown on the land for feed. The present day owners (no relations) contract with "Foremost" milk. Photo taken by Rita Jones on WI Trip 2009.

It is not known if this present day home was built partly on the old foundation of Cornelius and Mary's old home or not. I did not get to talk with the present day owners. The present day house sits on a knoll and it is most likely Cornelius's old house place. An old dairy close to the house place would support my guess. Photo taken by Rita Jones on WI Trip 2009.

Holy Assumption Cemetery of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church is where Cornelius Dempsey, his wife Mary (Duffy) Dempsey and daughter Anne Dempsey are interned. They share the same 4 sided tombstone. The cemetery is rural on County M Road within 1/2 mi of Cornelius's old house place. The church itself is in Clyman town. Taken by Rita Jones on WI Trip 2009.

St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyman, Dodge County, WI is where I assume Cornelius & Mary attended church since he, Mary and daughter Anne are buried in this church's cemetery. The church in town is about 6-7 miles from it's rural cemetery which is less than a mile from Connor's home. Photo taken by Rita Jones on WI Trip 2009.

A closer photo of Cornelius's tombstone in Holy Assumption St John's Catholic Church Cemetery shows his daughter Ann's marking on the stone too. Cornelius's wife, Mary is on the opposite side of the same stone but can't be viewed in this photo. Taken by Rita Jones on WI Trip 2009.
